Overview
Shatkarma is a set of traditional yogic purification techniques essential to yoga sadhana (practice). These practices aim to cleanse the body of accumulated toxins and impurities, thereby promoting overall health and preparing the body for more advanced yoga practices such as asanas and pranayama.

Types of Shatkarma:
- Neti: Cleansing the nasal passages using a neti pot with lukewarm salt water. This practice helps in clearing the nasal cavities and improves breathing.
- Dhauti: A method for cleansing the digestive tract, removing toxins, and enhancing digestive health.
- Basti: A colon cleansing technique aimed at detoxifying the lower intestines and improving bowel health.
- Trataka: A focused gazing practice where one concentrates on a single point or the flame of a candle, enhancing concentration and mental clarity.
- Nauli: An abdominal massage technique where the core muscles are rotated in a clockwise and counterclockwise direction, aiding digestion and strengthening the abdominal muscles.
- Kapalabhati: Known as "skull shining breath," this pranayama involves passive inhalation and forceful exhalation. It energizes and balances the nadis (energy channels), supports respiratory health, aids in weight loss, enhances lung capacity, increases body heat, improves digestion, and relieves fatigue.
